The
Fir Tree Which Shed Tears in Blood on the Day of Ashura
Every year on Ashura[Tenth Day of the
month of Muharram, the day of the martyrdom anniversary day of Imam
Husain(as),when the Holy Imam was martyred in the battlefield of Karbala
on 10th Muharram, 61 Hijrah to save Islam] tens of thousand of the
mourners of Imam Husain(as) gather near this historical fir tree to
witness the astonishing moment when this tree shed tears in blood in the
morning of Ashura day.
This very big and old fir tree is located in the holy shrine of Hadrat
Ali Asghar son of Imam Mousa alKadhim(as)[Imam Moosa al-Kazim(as),the
Seventh Holy Imam of the Shi'ites] near the Zarabad village in the
mountainous Alamut region near the Iranian city of Qazwin.
Hadrat Ali Asghar ison of Imam Moosa alKadhim(as) was martyred in 203
A.H. by the Abbasid caliph.After the burial of Hadrat Ali Asghar ibn
Imam Moosa alKadhim(as) near this village since last 1200 years the fir
tree every year in the morning of the Ashura day sheds tears in blood
and tens of thousand gather here to witness this miracle of Imam
Husain(as).
Since last 1200 years every year on the morning of the Ashura day drops
in the form of blood trickle down from the leaves and branches of this
big and very old fir tree.These drops also smell the odour of blood and
the whole tree turns red with these blood drops.
On the Ashura day tens of thousands of mourners gather near this fir
tree and mourn the martyrdom of Imam Husain(as).Many critically ill
patients are every year Miraculously Healed by the blood which trickles
from this tree.
