Hijab
I am more than what you see
Allah's grace is bestowed upon me.
To you I am oppressed, ignorant and meek
I choose this demeanor for it's Allah's favor I seek.
Judge me not for what you see.
But for the character housed within me.
My body to you is willfully forbidden.
For I keep my natural beauty hidden.
My mind is equal to yours you will see.
If you'd only learn to listen to me.
My figure is not for your eyes to hold
Speak to my mind, not my feminine mold. |
