Lady of Paradise
By: Sister Mardhiya
My heart's whisper
I have always longed to present the thoughts; the pain, the agony that
Fatimah Al Zahra (as) must have gone through after her father's
departure, from the perspective of a lover. Someone who dearly admires
Zahra (as). Yet, however much I try I see no success.
Last night when I picked my pen from the table, I had just one aim . . .
to compose a poem for the Lady of Paradise. To bless my mind & vision
just by thinking of her personality.
But as usual I ran out of words. I ended up packing the paper and
sealing it, with no words laden in it.
I often ask myself, ' what sin must I
have commited, that my heart cannot express its gestures, that my hand
cannot write & my mind narrate. '
O' Allah; If I cannot visit her grave, atleast give me the fluency of
words! This is my whisper; my prayer & my plea.
The Poem
My love to you I extend,
O' lady of Paradise.
At your doorsteps;
I have occupied a seat,
for the sake of your Hassan,
donot reject me.
I am a servant,
who wishes to be chosen by you.
Pick me, even though I am not worthy;
for your mercy falls far beyond,
the ink of my pen.
O' Fatimah - You are the gentle breeze of dawn,
and I; a lone cloud in the sky,
waiting to be touched by you.
O' Siddiqah
- You are the beginning,
to the generation of righteous.
O' Radhiya - From your lap,
twelve moons shall brighten the worlds.
O' Reyhana - By your beauty,
the sun is humbled.
O' Batoul - The messengers of God,
seek entry to your home.
O' Mardhiya - The corner's of your house;
are the place of gather, for the angels.
O' Zahirah - You are Khadijah's reflection,
a heavenly bouquet of light you surely are.
O' Tahirah - Kawthar holds your name,
and Prophet's love you bear.
O' Zakiyyah - You are for Muhammad a fruit,
after the years of hardship.
An answer to his forenoon prayers,
You are a reply to Surah Ad Duha.
May I be your ransom,
grace me a glance.
From the highest peak of Paradise,
look at my chest,
which bears your most beautiful title;
O' Fatimah. |
