Tribute

By: Sister Mardhiya

Kazimayn stands high,
with blood stained soil.
The death anniversary,
of the seventh star;
has truly striked our hearts.
The earth roars,
the sky weeps.
Tigris laments;
as mourner's drown.
Indeed every land is Kerbala;
surely every day is Ashura.
Kazimayn has worn,
the cloak of mourning today.
for the lovers of Musa,
have bid a painful farewell today.
The children who sang eulogies;
lie all in a row,
crushed amid the sorrow.
Torn slippers symbolize;
the spiritual love they had.
they brilliantly proved,
how loyal they are.
I salute you O' Martyrs;
for surely you attained your abode.
In a state of lamenting,
you breathed your last.
Meet the host of Kazimayn;
at the spring of Kawthar,
and relate to him,
the tale of misery.
