Ya Mahdi Ajjal !

By: Sister Mardhiya

Asghar's frail neck,
collapsing under the three lobed arrow,
cries out for you;
O' Mahdi.

His last smile,
his burnt cradle,
& his flowing blood,
cries out for you;
O' Mahdi.

Sakina's torn cloak,
her burnt hopes,
& her flowing tears,
cries out for you,
O' Mahdi.

Qassim's trampled body,
his crushed bones,
His final call of,
" Adrikni O' uncle"
calls out for you,
O' Mahdi.

Zainab's hands,
tied with chain,
Her swollen arms,
and her cries in vain,
calls out for you,
O' Mahdi.

Zaynul Abideen's bent back,
his withered soul,
The sufferings of Shaam,
that he endured,
calls out for you,
O' Mahdi.

Abbas's two arms,
lying on the burning sand,
The arrow blinding his sight,
& Hussain's helplessness,
cries out for you;
O' Mahdi.

Hussain's severed head,
watching his little Sakina.
With the words of Quran,
he comforts the orphans,
from a distance,
cries out for you;
O' Mahdi.
