AlMujtaba Islamic Poetry > The Tragedy of Karbala

Peace giver

 By: Sister Fiddha

The innocent dimple lights up your cheeks
Your round wondrous mannequin eyes light up the room
And your laughter
Sends birds in a daze
Soaring to unknown locations.
Your chubby stumplike fingers bless
Everything they touch
Like Midas you transform everything
Only with you its elixir
And there's no cure
Nor would we wish for one.
A walking fairy
You granted every wish
Delighting everyone
With your pixie-dust
Oh sweet bud of Hussain
That never blossomed!
What did they do that silky skin?
That magic white robe?
I see a dead girl
Whose skin and dress merge
In the fire
And parched lips frozen in song
-An unfinished lullaby
Enticing your father
To come to you
In the depths of a dark, damp dungeon.
