Thoughts

 By: Sister Fiddha

The familiar lament lures me
To a land that I only remember in a dream
A life I only live mourning for you.

The awe and fire is greater than that found
In the depths of the nights of
The month of Ramadan

The heart beats in rhythm to the
Beating of our chests
Our every sense cries out Ya Hussain !

Our hearts and minds submit to you
Call us we are your parcels
Address us to our Awaited One

The sense are jolted out of their slumber
As whispers of Leila calling to her son
To wake up
Reach us

Sakina's cries rip apart our nights
So we remain bowed in sajda
Wishing we could comfort Sugra
As like her we mourn our isolation
From you.

Wails of Rabaab and Leila
Screaming against the injustice
Against the lioness
Zainab
Their skin hanging loosely
Off their faces
Their faces dripping with their
Their sacrifice
Kill us.

Abbas' Name being chanted
By all the shias that ever breathed
Oh Abbas the Standard bearer
Abbas , the standard bearer
Climax
We dont know whether we
Are concious or not
We know only this
Hussain Oh Hussain
Your pain
Oh Maula Your pain

The beating slows down
A rest
A pause
Your coffin comes
Through the mosque door
The ladies screaming
A wild free for all
As we rip ourselves
Apart
Saying Oh Fire of hell
You have now become haraam for us
Our faces are not for you
Our skin is not for you
Let us tear it for Hussain
So it will testify
Beware This is Hussain's!
On the day of judgement.
