Aun and Muhammad

 By: Sister Fiddha

Bismillah al- Rahman al – Rahim

Our hearts are opened
Our eyes submitted
Muharram has begun
Aun and Muhammad are dead.

What lover can smile
Or laugh
Amongst the
Corpses of the two
Who are honoured in heaven.

Three lie dead so far
Fatima waits for more.

Through the eyes of the heart
Time loses its meaning
As Kerbala unfolds
A sign from God
It cannot submit
To time
Or be confined in history

So where are the weeping faces
Where are the wailing voices
Where are the bruised chests
Where are the lamenters
Whose thirsty lips
Cry out Ya Hussain!

Why are the lovers
Submerged amongst the
Haters
Betrayers and lovers
Under one roof
Isolation making
Little of your sacrifice

We the destitute
Have no mosque
No community
We just look up
At the ceiling
Seeing through
The plaster covering
Piercing through
Heavens veils
To ascend to you
Our master

All of us stand up
And cry with one voice

“I am Hur”
