Cry of Sakina

By: Sister Mardhiya

In the loneliness of the night;
when the stars take cover,
deep in the lap of a neverland;
lies a little girl,
waiting patiently for the return,
of her beloved father.
With a glowing desire;
warming her tiny heart,
she wanders alone in the dark,
scenting all the flowers,
to locate her beloved father.
The moon light diffuses rays of hope;
that sparkle in her tear drops.
With tender steps,
she finds the way,
to her beloved father.
The familiar fragrance,
with which she grew,
neared her to bruised body.
She clinged onto it,
and dusted the sand from her beloved father.
The wind halted,
to over hear the sorrowful talk.
The little girl covered her sore feet,
and with her hair,
her wounded ears she concealed.
" Father, which of your wound hurts you most ? "
she whispered,
as she silently laid a motherly kiss,
on the cut veins.
With hearing this,
the wind howled with unveiled tears.
